19th century animal art by John Miles
naive art by John Miles

John Miles

Famous for producing naïve art, John Miles of North-leach is a  much sought after artist with a most distinctive naïve & unique style, producing charming and much sought after paintings.

Based in Gloucestershire, Miles mainly painted animal portraits of prize winning Cotswold farming animals and racehorses.

Late autumn and early winter were the busiest months for painters such as Miles, as portraits of livestock were often commissioned just prior to slaughter.
